Telly was only taking 1/4 of a Clavamox tablet a day (UTI maintenance). He ran out of pills and I decided to try him one more time without being on the anti-biotics. I thought that maybe my experience at expressing his urine might make the difference in whether he gets another infection or not. Ok…so he quit taking his pills on a Friday. Two days later…Sunday…his urine started to smell infected. Monday morning, it was terrible. I had to put him on a course of full tablets for a while. Now I am on half tablets. I’ll wean him back down to the 1/4 a tablet again, but I think I have learned my lesson. This is the third time I’ve tried to take him off the pills.
