Toys and “WOW! Where does the time go?”
I am in disbelief that Dec 13 was my last post? I feel like it was just a few weeks ago! Hmmm…my Lenten promise is to make one post a day. I have so much to share and so many cool pictures of the kids!
The kids got soooo many toys for Christmas. I am embarrassed that they own so many toys. Some dogs have one or two chewed up toys that they toss around. My kids have…over a hundred
Here is their Christmas haul. With six dogs, people give six toys! You know how kids can be…

So, I thought, wouldnt it be wonderful to go through the toybox and take out some toys to give the poor kids at HUA ( http://www.hua.org ) ? Funny thing…I sent them all out to potty and hurriedly dumped this bag out, took the picture, and stuffed them all back in the bag. They came in the back door and they KNEW that toys had been all over the floor!

The toybox toys used to climb halfway up the wall. It was like a game of “Dont Spill the Beans.” It also made toy selection much more difficult! I am embarrassed to say that they have an upstairs toybox that is overstuffed, as well. FYI - I have found the perfect dachshund toybox. A low trunk. Two benefits - 1) They can stand up and be able to sort toys all the way to the bottom. 2) I can close the lid when I want a neater appearance (ok, ok…so the lid doesnt exactly close when the toybox has too many toys) If you wonder where to get something like this; a crafty type of store with baskets and such will have a nice selection (I got mine at Hobby Lobby) I think that Pier One would also be a good place to look?
THIS is the downstairs toybox cleaned up.

And a final note and tip. I take the Christmassy themed toys and put them away with the Christmas decorations. This has many advantages! New toys next year (new to them) I dont have to look at Santa Claus in July. And, the toybox is not as stuffed
Here is the pile that went into storage. This clandestine pic was also taken while the kids were all outside!
