Cream, anyone?
Our rescue group, Nebraska Dachshund Rescue, did a once in a lifetime intake. A breeder of English Creams was failing. Seems like they had more money than brains and ventured out to buy some very expensive breeding stock. The bloodlines go all the way back to the original cream kennels. And the pedigrees are riddled with famous cream kennels and CH ancestors - Ralines, Sniffntells, Devoncream, Tanska…just to name a few.
These dogs were ‘kept’. No love. No grooming. Not enough food. Their pads are down to the red muscle. Why? They were forced to potty in their crates. Not enough water and having to stand in their super-acidic urine. All had a look of terror on their faces. All were gentle as lambs. And soooo soft! All are afraid of men.
Look at these two. It’s as if they are asking each other, “What’s happening? Theyre touching us. And carrying us. Should we be afraid?”

They were so traumatized. They allowed us to do anything we needed to do to them. They did not know how to take food. They were afraid to take it. We had heard how they were fed. Just a few morsels and it was stripped from them before they could finish. They do not know how to play with a toy.

These two seem to be saying to each other, “Where are we? What’s going on? How come we are allowed to walk outside and no one is hurting us?”

Bob has always wanted a little cream girl (who hasnt???) What a perfect situation for us. Rescuing her. And she’s one of the most beautiful girls in the world.

That sounds a lot like the mill seizure I did a year ago. How are their eyes? Several of the dogs at the mill seizure had burnt corneas. The ammonia fumes from the urine burnt their eyes. BNPH cream did help some of them. One was afraid to eat from a metal dog bowl, he was afraid of the shiny bowl. We put his food on the floor of the crate and he gobbled it up.
Bless you for bringing these little ones out into the light of day and the light of love.
She is a beautiful addition to your family.

Hope Telly and the rest of you are all doing OK- I see no posts since March! Sooo hot here in Arkansas, but the wieners love it anyway- except for the increase in fleas. One of my little uns had major dental surgery, but otherwise all’s well– from Wienerville, AR
